To start the quiz, click on the .html file in this folder. It should have a name that looks like: TEC-WB1-U#Q# (where # is the unit number and the quiz number respectively).

The file will open in a browser application window (such as Safari, Firefox, Edge or Chrome). The default size is 1024 pixels wide by 768 pixels high. If this is too large to see all items on the screen of your device, please change the viewing resolution of your device or the your browser software. It is not a good idea to reduce the size of the browser window by dragging the corner of the window smaller than 1024 x 768 pixels, as this may prevent the screen appearing correctly.

The first screen gives the instructions for the test. Choose the speed setting that you think is best. If you do nothing, the test will start automatically after a delay of 20 seconds at the standard speed.

On the question pages, you will see the question at the top of the page and four answer options below. There are usually 10 questions in each quiz. You can see the current question number, current score and current speed in the top right corner of the screen. After a short while the timer slider at the bottom of the screen will start moving across the screen, counting down to zero.

If you click or tap on the correct answer, you will be awarded the number of points that appear on the timer slider at that time. You will also hear a positive audio clip to indicate your choice was correct, but the countdown slider will continue to zero before the next page appears.

If you click or tap on the wrong answer, you will have points deducted. You will also hear a negative audio clip to indicate your choice was wrong.

As the timer counts down to zero, the incorrect answers will gradually disappear, hopefully helping to make your choice of the correct answer easier.

When the time reaches zero, you will see the feedback screen, which explains which answer (and sometimes why that answer) was correct. If you do nothing, the explanation will disappear after five seconds. You can click the pause button to have more time to read the explanation.

After that, the next question will appear.

At the end of the quiz, you will see your final score and the time taken. If you wish, you can play the quiz again at the speed setting you choose.
